My wife and I live in the Bay of Plenty. Tomorrow our house will be listed by a local real-eastate company, and we have high hopes, that even with the present downturn in the housing market, our home should sell quite quickly. When we have signed contract, and my sokicitor is holding a 10% deposit, we will be coming to Hawke's Bay to look at properties in the Hastings, area.

At first we will be looking for a two bedroom unit, I have no objection to a property I need of some TLC as I am very good with my hands. There is a possiblity we may eventually be heading overseas, and the idea of taking on medium term capital gain achieved through home improvement holds considerable appeal. Once settled into our new home, we may also be looking for a second property with the view to renting ourt. money in the bank earning only a pitiful interest, less tax. no longer holds nay appeal.
